UNEXPECTED ENVIRONMENTALISTS
The BC Used Oil Management Association (BCUOMA) is a not-for-profit group dedicated to the safe collection and recycling of used motor oil, oil filters and antifreeze.
We needed to communicate to the oil-changing DIYers, that all they had to do to help the planet was simply recycle their oil properly.
Over 59% watched our film through to completion, well above the industry standard of 20%. And more importantly, recycling of used motor oil is up across the province.

HOW TO
By the second year of the campaign, BC collection facilities had slowly reduced by half making it even harder for oil-changing DIYers to find a nearby collection facility.
We needed to create a campaign that showed our target that BCUOMA remained committed to providing an easy, free, eco-friendly way to dispose of their used motor oil, oil filters and antifreeze.
We created three animated social videos humorously showing just how easy it is to recycle.
The social conversation that resulted from our videos far surpassed all expectations. 1.26% of people who saw the ads either engaged directly or clicked through to the website. Of those who clicked through to the site, 20.8% further engaged with the landing page and finder tool. And over 100,000 people viewed the videos.
